Best Weinergate Moment So Far

Weinergate is political pornography. I’m prim enough when it comes to such things that I’d reflexively avert my eyes if I were confronted with a window into Anthony Weiner’s psyche. But I can’t pretend I wouldn’t have loved to listen in to this conversation reported by the Times and the inter-Clinton communications that must have followed (my emphasis):
“One of Mr. Weiner’s most emotional apologies was delivered to former President Bill Clinton, who officiated at his wedding in July and is extremely close with the congressman’s wife, Huma Abedin, an aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The Clintons are deeply unhappy about the situation and with Mr. Weiner, people who had been told of their thinking said. Mr. Clinton declined to comment.”
Imagine the dissonance generated within Bill Clinton’s psyche by his legendary powers of empathy, and the dissonance within the Clinton household (if there really is such a thing) by the collision between Bill’s empathy and Hillary’s memory.

Why on earth does Weiner owe Bill Clinton an apology? How bizarre. Because Bill Clinton officiated at his wedding??? Because Weiner's wife works for Bill's wife??? Does Weiner look up to Bill Clinton as a father figure?

This whole thing gets stranger by the day.

Weiner is ridiculous and becomes more so with each passing day. Being forgiven by the Clintons is not going to help him and his irresistible urges from his mid-section.
